The Journey final conference (the name of the event is ‘Community Summit’) is going to be held on 27th & 28th August, 2019 in the European Youth Centre in Budapest, to which we would kindly like to invite you. The patron of the conference is Mr. László Palkovics, PhD, Hungarian minister of innovation and technology.
The Journey is organized by EIT Climate-KIC and is Europe’s biggest innovation based climate change program, in which around 400 students are receiving education. The goal of the Journey is that the students work out such innovative solutions in small groups of 4-5 during 4 week summer courses, that aim to solve climate protection problems. Climate change is a globally common and one of the most urgent problems of all of us already now, and is going to be even more so in the future. To handle this issue we need new, innovative ideas, and we also need the knowledge, expertise and enthusiasm of young people.
This year a total of 9 summer schools are organised in 2 turns (July and August), during which the work is taking place in altogether 20 cities. Each summer school is lasting for 4 weeks and are held in 3 different cities. This is the first time that the July turns meet in Hamburg, and then the August turns meet in Budapest, where the groups present their ideas at a 2-day final conference, and have the opportunity to network with praised companies, research institutes and universities of the profession.
