What is Pioneers into Practice?

Pioneers into Practice is the professional mobility programme of Climate-KIC, aiming to create a team of agents for change. Professionals on low carbon economy from education, research, enterprise and administration put in practice their expertise in the territory to create new products and services on the field of the climate change.

What kind of mobility is the Programme talking about?

It´s a 4-6 weeks placement working on leading low-carbon projects in host organisations (regional+international) with individual and group projects assignments focused on real-world challenges.

There are also intensive workshops to develop an understanding of transition thinking and system innovation in the area of climate change adaptation and mitigation.

What kind of profile are we looking for? Are you a “pioneer”?

The programme aims to bring together a broad range of muliti-skilled professionals – from industry, small companies, universities, research institutes, public bodies as well as NGOs from selected regions able to combine technical specialisms with social understanding and entrepreneurial spirit in order to develop a cross-disciplinary and international understanding.

Pioneers into Practice (PiP) is Climate-KIC’s leading professional knowledge development and mobility programme for creating high-level skills for the low-carbon economy.

It is a knowledge development and placement programme that brings together green professionals from industry, small companies, universities, research institutes, local councils as well as non-profit and public organisations.

The PiP programme aims to create a new generation of entrepreneurs, intrapreneurs and enablers with the capacity to understand and manage the new type of innovation required to address the challenges posed by climate change and to lead the transition to a low-carbon economy.

How to apply?

Applications for 2020 open on the 13th February and close on the 23rd April, successful participants confirmed 30th April.
